Insulation Resistance Testing – keetle frame with parts that carrying current.


Steps to do testing :



•To do with this experiment,we needs an Insulation Tester ( IT ).
•One probe of the Insulation Tester connect to keetle frame and the other one to the parts carrying current from the keetle terminal .
•Press IT button and make sure the reading not less than 0.5 Megaohm.
•If the reading less than 0.5 Megaohm, that means the insulation resistance of the keetle does not good or please replace the spare part such as keetle element with a new one .
•After the spare part replacement settle, please make retesting .
•If the reading of the IT more than 0.5 Megaohm that means when the supply connect to keetle element, there is no short happen between element and the frame or earth .
•If the element and frame is short together this will cause a dangerous situation with the users .
•Make sure ELCB ( Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker ) in good condition, so that the device can operate (off the supply ) when short circuit happen in the house .
